A black bear was identified in a tree at 4800 Astrozon Blvd. in South East Colorado Springs earlier this morning. As of 9:00 am Mountain time, Colorado Springs police and Colorado Division of Wildlife officials are actively working to remove the tree-hugging bear. Whether this bear will fall out of its tree because it is shot with a tranquilizer gun is still yet undetermined. (Photos: Courtesy of Colorado Springs Police Department)

[UPDATE] We received reports this morning that the bear was euthanized after it was rescued because it had a broken leg, likely caused by a collision with a motor vehicle from the day or night before.
